Detailing & Ceramic Coating
Keep it looking as good as it runs. Hand details, multi-stage paint correction and ceramic coatings from our dedicated detailing bay, for any make.
A detailing bay inside a performance shop
GB Motors Detailing is the detailing side of GB Motors in Dallas. We treat paint the way we treat engines: inspect first, then do the work properly.
Daily driving, automatic car washes and the Texas climate leave swirls, water spots and dull paint. We look at the car under good light, talk through your goals and recommend the right level. Sometimes that is a full hand detail. Sometimes it is paint correction and a ceramic coating. Detailing is by appointment and available for any make. Booking mechanical work too? We can line it up with maintenance and repair or performance upgrades.

What multi-stage correction does
Swirls and light scratches live in the clear coat. Paint correction uses machine polishing to level that clear coat so it reflects light evenly again.
A single-stage polish suits paint in fairly good shape. Multi-stage correction adds a cutting step first for heavier defects. We check paint depth as we go, because clear coat is limited and we only remove what the car needs.
If a scratch goes through the clear, we'll tell you before we start.
What a coating does and doesn't do
A ceramic coating bonds to the paint and forms a hard, slick layer. Water beads off and dirt struggles to stick. It also adds resistance to UV fading, bug and bird etching and water spots.
It is not armor. A coating won't stop rock chips or deep scratches, and it still needs proper washing. Think of it as multi-year protection depending on the coating and care, and a much easier car to keep clean.
Built for Texas heat
Dallas sun, heat, bugs and hard water are tough on paint. A ceramic coating adds a hard, slick layer that resists UV fading, etching and water spots and makes the car much easier to keep clean. Read more in the press.
- Sun and UV: strong sun fades and oxidizes unprotected paint and trim over time.
- Heat: bug splatter and bird droppings bake onto hot panels and can etch the clear quickly.
- Hard water: sprinklers and rinse water leave mineral spots that are hard to remove.
- Dust and pollen: fine grit settles fast, and wiping it off dry causes swirls.
Clean. Correct. Protect.
Every coating job follows the same steps, so the coating bonds to truly clean, corrected paint.

How to care for a coated car
These are general best practices. We'll give you specific advice for your coating at pickup.
- Let it cure: avoid washing and keep the car dry for the period we recommend.
- Hand wash: use a pH-neutral soap, a clean mitt and the two-bucket method.
- Skip brush washes: automatic brushes cause swirls, coated or not.
- Remove bugs and droppings early: don't let them sit in the heat.

Detailing & ceramic coating FAQ
How much does ceramic coating cost in Dallas?
It depends on the size of the car, the condition of the paint and how much correction it needs. We inspect the car first and then quote the right package for it.
Do I need paint correction before ceramic coating?
Usually, yes. A coating locks in whatever is underneath, so swirls and scratches should be corrected first. We'll inspect the paint and recommend the right level.
Is ceramic coating worth it in Dallas?
Texas sun, heat, bugs and hard water are rough on paint. A coating helps resist UV fading, etching and water spots, and makes the car much easier to wash.
How long does a ceramic coating last?
Coatings give multi-year protection depending on the coating and care. How the car is washed, stored and driven makes a big difference. We'll explain what to expect for the option you choose.
Do you detail cars that aren't European?
Yes. Our mechanical work focuses on European cars, but detailing is available for any make.
How do I book a detail?
Detailing is by appointment. Send us a request through the contact page or call, and tell us about the car and what you want done. You can also see recent work on Instagram at @gbmotors_detailing.
Results depend on the condition of the paint and the vehicle. Coating durability depends on the product chosen and how the car is cared for. We'll confirm what's realistic first. Contact us to book.
